Just 4 You Treats is a local bakery that specializes in custom desserts.  Located in the heart of downtown McHenry, our team is growing and looking to add talented, hard working, committed and reliable individuals to our team.

Bakery Manager

We are actively looking for an experienced Bakery Manager to supervise our baking staff and manage all bakery operations.

The primary Bakery Manager’s responsibilities include:
  •  supervise baking staff and ensure that all bakery operations run smoothly by assisting in all departments as needed
  • maintaining clean and sanitized baking premise and equipment
  •  take inventory of baking supplies
  • manage online purchasing department
  • Developing and implementing advertising and marketing strategies to attract new customers.
  • Creating suitable work schedules for staff members
  • Appraising staff performance and carrying out the necessary disciplinary measures to address poor performance
  • Training staff to produce high-quality bakery items while following proper food handling procedures
  • Strategically arranging bakery items in display cases to encourage customer purchases
  • Inspecting bakery items to ensure that established standards on quality, uniformity, and aesthetic appeal are met
  • Resolving customer complaints in a professional manner.

HOURS: 30-40 Hours per week. (Tuesday-Saturday) Most shifts will be daytime hours.  

Pay Rate: Starting at $17/hour, depending on experience.  Bakery manager must have food mangers license or obtain within 60 days of hiring.  Previous food handling/service experience is required for this position.  


Bakery Clerk

As the face of our bakery, all bakery clerk candidates must have excellent customer service, positive people skills and be reliable. 

  • The safe handling and distribution of baked goods for customers in a bakery.
  • Supporting Pastry Chefs by restocking inventory, assisting with baking tasks and cleaning the bakery environment.
  • Managing the bakery's cash register, bagging baked goods and then taking customers' payments.
  • Ensuring that the display cases inside the bakery are fully stocked with fresh bread and other baked goods.
  • Answering phone calls and assisting customers with orders.
  • Safely packaging orders for pickup and shipping. 

Hours: 25-40 hours per week. 4-5 days per week (Tuesday-Friday availability between 9-4/5p.m.)

Pay Rate: $14-16/ hour depending on work experience and skills. 

Full Time Cake/ Cookie  Decorator

Candidates would ideally have cookie and/or cake decorating experience, an eye for detail and be reliable.  Must be able to work with royal icing and create a variety of cookie designs.

Hours: 30-40 hours - 4 days per week: daytime availability - 6-8 hours per day
* 2 Saturdays per month: 7:30-2:30

Pay Rate: $15/hour or more depending on experience.

Part-Time Events Facilitator and Instructor

Seeking enthusiastic applicant to organize, facilitate and instruct decorating classes for adults and children.

Applicants should be able to do the following with minimal training:
- decorate sugar cookies
- teach groups of adults and children
-maintain cleaning standards for commercial kitchen
-assist and manage baking classes and birthday parties
- assist with customer service tasks (phone calls, emails, registration, etc.)
- promote a positive reputation of Just 4 You Treats
- follow basic recipes

HOURS: 20-25 hours per MONTH - based on class schedules
- must be available some Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays

​Pay Rate: $13-16/hour


Part- Time Bakery Assistant

As a bakery assistant responsibilities would include (but not limited to): 
- following recipes, doing math, multiplying recipes


- using commercial baking equipment
- preparing doughs, frostings, cakes, cupcakes, brownies, pastries, etc. 
- basic decorating using royal icing , butter cream and chocolate
- cleaning and maintaining a professional work space
- packaging product (possible deliveries to Post Office)
- assisting customers and providing friendly service
​- date entry of orders

HOURS: 12-20 hours per week - daytime and/or evening availability & 2 Saturdays per month 7:30 am. -2:30 pm.

Pay Rate: $12-14/hour

Full Time Pastry Chef

Seeking trained pastry chef to lead/mentor a team, as well as organize and develop a robust pastry menu for walk-in, corporate and catering clientele.

Applicant should be able to do the following:
- follow basic, moderate and complex recipes
- create large quantities of pastry items
- develop new seasonal menus that are on trend and invite new clients into the bakery
- cost recipes to be be budget friendly
- mentor and train assisting team members
- hold IL food managers license
- manage inventory
- Create and implement a robust menu for a variety of clientele.
- maintain a clean work area/department

HOURS: 30-40 hours/ week - day time and/or evening availability

Pay Rate: $14-17/hour depending on experience
